Every breakthrough came from learning, experimenting, and being guided by people who were generous with their knowledge. That’s exactly why I created this workshop series.
It’s built for photographers who are ready to LEVEL UP their lighting, not just understand it. We explore lighting in a hands-on, practical way. Test ideas. Break rules. Refine techniques. Then apply them with purpose every time you pick up your camera. The truth is, great lighting isn’t about fancy gear. It’s about confidence, clarity, and control.
My passion is empowering photographers to trust their vision, sharpen their skills, and walk into every shoot knowing, “I’ve got this.” Because when your lighting improves, everything changes.
SINGLE DAY WORKSHOPS
Join me for an intensive, hands-on experience where we start with ONE light and slowly build all the way up to four lights by the end of the day.
We’ll recreate some of my most recognizable images, then push further by experimenting with brand-new lighting setups. You’ll rotate shooting a professional model, troubleshoot real-world challenges, and break down modifiers, ratios, and light placement step by step.
We’ll also dive into my Capture One post-production workflow, so you see exactly how the image comes together from start to finish. But the best part? You won’t just copy lighting setups. You’ll finally understand WHY each light exists, HOW it shapes the image, and WHEN to use it. That’s how lighting becomes intentional.
And that’s how your images level up.
TWO DAY WORKSHOPS
The advanced lighting workshops, which take place biannually locally in Houston, offer a more intimate setting with just seven attendees. Over two days, we’ll meticulously recreate inspirational images, rotate through various lighting setups of your choice, and I’ll guide you through some of my most complex setups, all while photographing professional models. We will conclude with my post-production workflow in Capture One and Photoshop
WHAT TO BRING
Come ready to shoot with your camera! We’ll provide the lights, modifiers, and triggers compatible with all major camera brands. After a productive day, we’ll relax over dinner, discuss what we’ve learned, and explore ways to put these new skills to work!

10:00 – 11:00am One & Two Lights Demonstration and Practice
11:00 – 12:00pm Lunch (provided)
12:00pm – 4:00pm Hands-on Lighting Setups with model
4:00pm – 5:00pm Retouching / Post Processing Demonstration
5:00pm – 6:00pm Hands on Retouching
6:00pm – 8:00pm Dinner, an optional activity that isn’t included in the cost of tuition.

TERMS
I MAGE USAGE: All images taken during the workshop can be used in your portfolio (online and social platforms), but please use the hashtag #876workshops where applicable. The models have rights too, so you cannot use the images commercially, to advertise photo shoots, or to promote any professional service or product. Essentially, a model release would be required for such uses, which you will not have.
CANCELLATION: Free cancellation is available if made more than 7 days before the workshop. Otherwise, all sales are final and non-refundable.
DEPOSITS: A 50% deposit or full payment is required to secure a spot. The balance is due two weeks before the workshop date.
RETOUCHING: The retouching section of the workshop occurs at the end of the workshop and will primarily feature Capture One and photoshop.
REQUIRED: You are required to have fun, ask questions, learn, and make new friends!
